Florida Realtors Family of Designations

Statistics prove that Realtors with at least one designation earn, on average, almost twice as much as Realtors without any professional certifications.  Designations show to the consumer that you have made the commitment to becoming a specialist in your field, with the education and resources available to provide them with exceptional service.

In addition to NAR's premier designation, the GRI, Florida Realtors has several designation programs available exclusively for members of the Realtor family.  These designation programs are currently in development and will be available in late 2011.

Masters, Graduate Realtor Institute (MRGI)
This program continues where the GRi leasves off, and combines classroom education and real-world experience into one pgrogram.  To complete the program, students complete a two-day core program, and then complete a series of elective courses available through the REBAC program.  Total hours required to complete the designation is based on their prior experience.

Florida Military Specialist (FMS)
The men and women who serve our country have a plethora of affordable housing programs available to make home ownership possible.  WIth 14 military installations in our state, chances are Realtors will provide real estate services to someone connected with the military.  The FMS Designation provides Realtors with practical education on the special needs of military personnel, exploring the special financing options and specific needs of these individuals.

Florida Realty Expert (FRE)
Florida is, quite possibly, one of the most unique states in the country.  Our geography varies dramatically from regSoion to region, our economy is diverse, our climate is unique and our history is rich and vibrant.  The Florida Realty Expert designation explores all these topics and more, providing students with the tools necessary to not only be an expert on real estate transactions, but Florida real estate transactions.

Social Media Specialist (SMS)
Social media is one of the hottest tools available for Realtors.  It allows us to change the way we do business and communicate with our clients.  Social media is a rapidly changing technology and the SMS designation identifies and teaches the use of social media effectively in today's market.  Furthermore, this designation explores the use of social media in the context  of remaining within the legal framework established by FREC for electronic communication as well as the Realtor Code of Ethics.
