Welcome to the Navarre Area Board of REALTORS®! We’re delighted you have chosen NABOR as your primary association. The process of joining as a REALTOR® member couldn’t be easier; just follow the check list below and please do not hesitate to call one of our committed team on 850-939-3870 if you require further information.
No appointment is necessary for New Members!
Once you have become affiliated with an office, have your new broker fax us a copy of your 2050 to 850-936-9718. The 2050 with your broker’s signature on it tells us,
1. where you’re working, and
2. we’re authorized to issue you an MLS User Name and Password
Please be advised that the sharing of MLS user numbers is strictly forbidden and carries a severe penalty.
A copy of the NABOR REALTOR® membership application is available on the “Membership” page of the Board website: www.naborhome.com, Faxing both these forms to us in advance allows us to expedite your paperwork and saves you time!
Requirements
As a REALTOR® you will need to pay local, state and national membership dues. Your dues are prorated to the month you join. In addition to your membership dues, you will pay a $150 New Member fee. Please see the “Fees” link on the “Membership” page of the website, for a breakdown of the costs to expect. If you have already paid your 2007 dues to another Association, please contact them and request a “Letter of Good Standing”. With a current letter of good standing the state and/or national dues portion of your NABOR Membership can be waived.
For your convenience, we accept cash, check, and the following credit cards: Visa and Master Card. Checks should be made payable to Navarre Area Board of REALTORS®. Please be advised that a 3% convenience fee is payable on all credit card transactions.
To complete the administrative side of the new membership process, you will need to bring to the Board office
1. A copy of your real estate license, or the Promissor print out showing you have passed your state exam.
2. Membership dues payment.
3. Form 2050 and the completed membership application (if you have not already faxed these to us)
Remember: No appointment is necessary for New Members; Board hours are 8:30 a.m. thru 4:30 p.m. Please be mindful that in order to best serve your needs, sufficient time should be allowed for the process to be completed.
On receipt of the above, you will receive a New Member packet detailing NABOR’s perks and services and your MLS login information
Please note you will be entered into the National Association database within 24 hours after which time, you should visit: www.realtor.org register.
You are now a Provisional member of the Navarre Area Board of REALTORS®.
Before you acquire Full membership status, NABOR Bylaws require that you attend New Member Orientation (full day class) within 90 days. Classes are held quarterly and the next available date will be notified to you.
New REALTOR® members are also required to take New Member Ethics training (3 hour morning class). Again, classes are held quarterly or alternatively you may chose to take the NAR online class: http://www.realtor.org/mempolweb.nsf/pages/newmemberorientationcourse and forward the confirmation to nabordana@bellsouth.net.
New Member MLS training (3 hour morning class) is also mandatory and is held quarterly. All classes are held at the NABOR office at 8851 Navarre Parkway unless otherwise stated.
LockboxService
NABOR is a full service Board and you will need your own lockbox key to show properties. Please be advised that the sharing of keys is strictly forbidden and carries a severe penalty. Lockbox keys are issued only by appointment on Thursday mornings at 10:00 a.m. At this time the options available will be explained and a short instructional video will be viewed.
When it comes to getting a key, you have three choices:
1. Display Key:
This is the basic little key that will open lockboxes. Billing is annual and is the least expensive of the three. The costs of a Display Key are
• $50.00 set up fee, and
• $155.40 plus tax 1 year lease, and/or
• $25.00 optional insurance
2. E-Key:
The E-Key offers more than the Display Key, but not as many services as the Treo phone. Please go to: www.supraekey.com or call us at 850- 939-3870 to see what Palm Pilots are compatible for the E-Key. After you purchase the Palm Pilot, the costs for this key option are
• $50.00 set up fee
•$17.95 plus tax /month for basic service (does not include MLS access)
3. Treo Phone:
This is the most elaborate of the three key choices. You can use your phone, access the MLS, and open lock boxes all with one handheld device. First you will have to purchase your Treo phone. You will need to either go to www.supraekey.com or call Debbie Hicks, Supra Support Coordinator, at 850- 939-3870 to see what Treo phones are compatible with the Supra software. After you purchase the Treo phone, the costs for this key option are
• $50.00 set up fee
• $25.95 plus tax/month for professional service (includes MLS access)
Lockboxes are available for purchase, at any time, after a Key has been issued. No appointment necessary.
